This is the type of magic that happens “right before your eyes”.  It is an intimate experience done for small groups, 2-10 at a time.  That doesn’t mean it cannot play for 100 people or more.  In a larger venue, the magician wanders from group to group performing a few effects for each.  This type of magic works for any size group and allows those for whom the magician is not performing to chat, visit, nosh, etc.  Close-up is done with cards, coins and small props and is what many people picture when they think of “sleight-of-hand”.
